With a very stunned look on my face, I read that my blog post "Adobe Should Stop Making CF Like Java" was voted best blog post of 2006 at the CFeMmys! Holy cow! Thanks folks.

To be fair, I can't take credit for the underlying idea, as it actually emerged from long series of conversations between myself, Hal Helms, and Mike Britton while we were working together in Sarasota, FL. I just happened to be the one to put the idea on my blog.

I still feel like the post was on target. After playing with Ruby, which is very cool, fully OO, dynamically typed, and with no interfaces or other such Java-esque trappings, it really drives home that CF could do just fine without them. We'll just have to see what Adobe actually decides to do as CFMX 8 takes shape.

Yeah!! A truly inspiring post, with one of the best comment threads on CF I've ever read. Congratulations to you Brian, and to the CF community for their passion for the language and all the possibilities.
