Just wanted to make a quick announcement that I have a ColdFusion 8 Overview article up at CNET TechRepublic.com. It probably doesn't contain much that will be new to the average ColdFusion Blog reader, but my hope is that it will expose some of the great stuff in CF8 to people outside the existing CF community.

Great job, Brian. You already got a comment from the type of person that needs to see this, a manager who has some vague negative on Coldfusion.

Make sure to Digg the story. I'm tired of only seeing those "Top 10 ways to do stuff with PHP" posts.

    Awesome article Brian.

Does a great job of covering the most impressive and cool features of CF8. I've just forwarded the link to a colleague at work who is a new starter here (a graduate) who has been tasked with learning CF from scratch (he has PHP experience). He's picked it up really quickly and I think the ease of use compared to PHP has blown him away.

The article should help him get an idea of what we can do once the company upgrades to CF8 for future work.

I didn't realise CF8 has exchange integration built in or how powerful the server monitor is. I am leaving the company soon to setup on my own and take on a 6 month .com startup contract. Building a social networking style site so I imagine the server monitoring will be essential for ensuring I get the best performance as user load increases.
